Just Headshots Days in Headingley, Leeds.

Late last year I partnered with Just Headshots to bring their regular headshot days to Leeds.

Just Headshots have been running headshot days in Warrington and Chester successfully for a number of years and it was time for them to branch out, cross the Pennines and set up a base in Yorkshire.

What can you expect at a Headshot Day?

Before you arrive at your session you’ll have had a one to one consultation with me. It’s a quick, 10 minute chat to find out more about you, your business/profession and what you need headshots for and what you want them to do. Headshots are much more than just head and shoulder portraits and can be used for so much more than just your LinkedIn profile photo (although that is a great place to use them)

When you arrive at The Den in Headingely you’ll be greeted by myself and Asha, our make up artist, you can expect a cracking cup of Yorkshire Tea, or coffee if you prefer and a selection of cakes to nibble away on and give you a little sugar boost before your session. The lounge area of The Den in Headingley makes the perfect space to answer a few emails, take a few calls and even network with our business people who are attending the session. We have exclusive use of The Den until 1pm on Headshot Days so please feel free to bring your laptop and notepad and stick about to tick a few jobs of your to-do list if you need to.

Asha will get you photo ready!

Yes, even the gentlemen who attend our headshot sessions get the VIP treatment. Business hair and make up is an absolute must have as part of the headshot day and I’m so happy to have Asha on board. She has worked in Film and Television and we’ve worked on commercial photography jobs together in the past. She’s professional, personable and is guaranteed to put you at ease, whilst enhancing how you look. Asha understands how to make you look great in camera, making my job easier, resulting in great portraits.

Once Asha has worked her magic, it’s time to strike a pose. Only kidding, sort of.

Making you feel comfortable in front of the camera is my number one priority. I HATE having my photograph taken, so I understand your pain if you feel all funny in front of the camera.

I’ll pop some music on, requests are welcome, we’ll have a natter and get going in the studio. You don’t have to feel stuffy and formal, your portraits can be fun! Ultimately they need to reflect you, and your business in the best way. Your business portraits should make people want to work with you, make you look approachable, authorative, knowledgable, professional, fun, personable, most importantly they should be authentically you. You might have the most important and serious job, but if you rarely turn up to meeting or to host a seminar fully suited and booted, then it’s not likely that a photograph of you fully suited and booted will reflect you. You wouldn’t want to turn up to an event you’ve been booked to speak at and someone wonder who you are or if they’ve booked the right person. Right?

This is why as part of your headshot session you’ll have the opportunity to bring and wear multiple outfits, we can see what works well together, what you feel most comfortable in, use different background and ill coach and coax you through the session to get different expressions out of you which reflect YOU and your business. Once the session is over I’ll send you a preview gallery and we’ll book a call to discuss your options. We’ll have covered all basis and then the choice is yours. I can help you narrow down your selection, advice on which photograph might work best where or for what purpose etc. Your selection are then fully retouched and sent you in the right formats for use.

Here’s what Matt had to say about his headshot session at The Den in March.

'The session was set up in a really good, relaxed environment, with there being a chance to have tea and coffee and talk about the photos beforehand. I had not done one of these photoshoots before and Christa made me feel very comfortable & assured, it never felt overly-serious and she helped direct me when needed. She was also really helpful when I was deciding which backgrounds to use and which photos to finally select. I'm really pleased with the quality of the photos and the communication that we've had between us throughout the process!'
