Capturing the Real You

The Wedding Experience

Bride and Groom stand on wall outside The Arches, Halifax. Documentary wedding photography, Leeds, Yorkshire, Cheshire

Documentary style Wedding Photography that is informal, authentically candid, romantic and fun.

Whether you’re planning a small, intimate wedding or the biggest party of the year, YOUR wedding day will be the most important day to YOU.
You will probably spend months working over the details, know matter how big or small. Once your wedding day is over, you’ve unpacked from your honeymoon, it’s back to reality… often with a bump. Then you receive your wedding photographs. HOORAY! You get to relive your wedding day all over again!

When you look back at your wedding photographs, I want you to remember how you felt in that moment. When you first saw your partner walking down the aisle, when you heard the best mans speech, or when you saw your Nan throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor. I want you to look back and remember the real moments. Not staged moments.

How do you know if I’m the right photographer for you? Firstly, you need to like my photographs, then you need to like me.

When you enquire, we’ll have a free consultation call, also known as a chat, and will discuss what you have planned for your wedding day so far, as well as what your expectations are for your wedding photographs. Do you have a wedding mood board or Pinterest page? Share it with me! You can ask me any questions you might have and I can get to know you better as well. We’ll also discuss level of “posing” you feel comfortable with for your wedding portraits if you want them. I prefer to “prompt” rather than “pose” and you’ll also have the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera at a free pre-wedding photo session.

Fun, laid back and informal, with YOU as the focus.

How It Works.

Step 01

Getting to know you.

Every booking starts with a pre-wedding consultation. This is an opportunity for you to get to know me, and for me to get to know you both and find out more about the plans for your big day!

This can be a done via a video or phone call at a time to suit you both.

I'll keep in touch during the run up to your wedding and you'll be able to give me all the final details for the day.

Step 02

Being your beautiful selves.

On the day of your wedding you will be able to relax and enjoy yourselves in the knowledge that I know what you have planned and when, and I'll be able to liaise with your venue/coordinator should I have any questions.

Due to the documentary style of my photography, I will slip into the background for most of the day... you'll barely notice I'm there which is perfect for the camera shy ones amongst us.

Step 03

Editing your photos.

Congratulations!!! You've both said "I do", the toasts have been done and you've partied the night away. What next?

I aim to share a few of my favourite shots with you within a week of your wedding. The fully edited collection is then available to view online within 6-8 weeks. I'll send you all of the details for this to share with your guests as soon as it's ready.

You'll also be invited to a post-wedding review, to go through your gallery and choose any extras.

Step 04

Choosing memories to treasure.

Once you've had the chance to look through your wedding gallery you have a few options:
- Choose which photographs you would like to be printed in a Bespoke Handcrafted Album*
- Choose which photographs you would like to be printed and framed in a Bespoke frame*
- Select photographs for any additional retouching* and then download your wedding gallery.

*Additional costs may apply.

Investment

I truly believe that you should view your wedding photography as an investment. An investment in preserving the memories of your wedding day for the future. Your wedding flowers will wilt, and you’ll pack your dress away in the attic. Your wedding photographs should stand the test of time, whether you choose to store them digitally, in an album or framed around your home. They are what you will look back on in years to come with friends and family.

All packages include a pre-wedding consultation and planning session as well as a post-wedding review session. I will be there to help you throughout the planning process and will check in multiple times before the big day. PRICES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST

  • Yes, my packages include travel within a 50 mile radius of Leeds City Centre. I will travel anywhere to shoot your wedding, so if you are further away then just let me know and we'll sort something out. I don't charge much extra, just enough to cover the additional travel and sometimes (if you're really far away) a hotel near by. If you're getting married abroad or are having an elopement please contact me for more details.

  • I completely understand how important it is that you have some group photos of all your friends and family. If group photos are requested, I would recommend allowing about 5 minutes per photo, so please try and make sure you allow enough time to get through your list. And I'd recommend appointing someone with a loud voice to round people up quickly ready for the shots.

  • It would be ideal to allow 45-60 minutes for your portraits, this can be spread out over the day. So perhaps 20 minutes or so after the ceremony and then again early evening. I don't like to take you away from your guests for too long, and we can work around when the light is best and what else you have planned.

  • I can take payment either by debit/credit card and also via bank transfer. A deposit of £500 or 50% (whichever is lower) is payable on booking unless otherwise agreed. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your wedding. I also offer payment plans, so let me know if you'd like to find out more.

  • You can never predict the English weather, and so we will always try and work out a back up plan before the big day. I will always do a recce of your wedding venue and talk to your co-ordinator to find out what rooms and areas are being used and what could be made available should the worst happen with the weather.

Sometimes you just have to brave the elements for a little bit, its all part of the fun!

  • There will be definitely be photographs from your big day that I just love. I will always share a few on my social pages and will probably write a short blog post in the months after your big day. If I were to submit or be asked to submit a select few images to wedding magazines or blogs then I will always ask your permission before doing so. I may also ask you for a testimonial as well. It's great to get some feedback on your experience of the day.
