Newborn Photography session in Leeds
At just two weeks old, this beautiful little lady and her parent’s had their first family portraits taken at a Newborn photography session in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.
Having already photographed G & T during the final weeks of G’s pregnancy, with a maternity photo session in Gledhow Valley Woods, I was filled with excitement at the thought of meeting their new arrival P in just a few weeks time.
A couple of weeks later than originally anticipated (babies rarely arrive on time), I had the opportunity to photograph the beautiful P, and her very proud parents.
Having arrived at their house, (I always photograph newborns in the comfort of their own home) we chatted and cooed over coffee whilst P was fed and settled, it’s really important to allow plenty of time for a newborn photography session. Nobody needs to feel rushed, especially not a new born. Which is why my sessions are all about taking the time to slow down, relax and feel comfortable. Once the session starts I try not to pose, but instead prompt and then let you find time to feel comfortable in that moment; whilst I capture the subtleties of your affection for one another.
At this newborn photography session in Leeds, I was able to photograph both Mum and Dad with their new little girl, relaxing, and enjoying each others company. At one point I did think that Dad might actually fall asleep, it’s normally the babies that do this, but I wouldn’t have blamed him. They chose to have their final images in black and white, offering a timeless look, I can’t wait to see how this little one grows and return to photograph her next important milestone.
The results were a collection of photographs, focusing on the tiny details of newborn life as well as the capturing the first few weeks of parenthood.
Here’s what they had to say “Christa, you perfectly captured our final month of pregnancy and our gorgeous newborn. You put thought into every photo and they encapsulate exactly how we were feeling during that time. We will treasure them for ever - thank you for helping us preserve such an important and wonderful time for us. “
